MP2 Capital Announces the Completion of 1.8MW Solar PV Project for Denver Public Schools

16 Rooftop Systems Now Producing Clean Electricity for the City’s Schools

DEVNER, CO, May 27, 2011 — MP2 Capital, a leading developer, financier and operator of solar projects throughout North America, announced today the completion of a 1.8MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project that powers 16 schools across the Denver Public Schools (DPS). MP2 Capital provided the financing for the project and worked closely with Namaste Solar, a Colorado-based designer and installer that constructed each of the systems, and Oak Leaf Energy Partners, a Denver-based developer.

Through a power purchase agreement with MP2 Capital, DPS will procure approximately 45 million kilowatt hours of clean electricity generated from the rooftop systems for a period of 20 years. In addition, the students of the DPS will enjoy the ongoing benefits of an educational program set up for the school district’s teachers by Namaste Solar to demonstrate the science and economics of solar production.
